Solheim to meet Sampanthan Monday

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader and the Secretary General of the Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) Mr.R.Sampanthan will brief the Norwegian special peace envoy Mr. Erik Solheim on Monday morning in Colombo on the ground situation of the northeast province, TNA sources said.

Mr.Sampanthan will discuss with Mr.Solheim regarding the forthcoming general election and the problems confronting the voters residing in the LTTE held areas in exercising their franchise, sources said.

Meanwhile Mr.Sampanthan is scheduled to address election rallies in the Jaffna electoral district for three days next week in support of TNA candidates, TNA sources said.

In the meantime major election rallies of the TNA are expected to be held in all the five districts in the northeast province during the last week of March, party sources said.
