LTTE, SLA to meet in Vavunathivu

A Sri Lanka Army (SLA) delegation led by 23-3 Brigade Commander Col.L.Ameratunge will meet with a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) delegation led by Senior Commander T.Ramesh at the Vavunathivu district Secretariat building Monday, security sources in Batticaloa said.

The meeting is being held after a lapse of several weeks. The discussions will focus on the current security situation in the each and explore ways to improve relationship between the SLA and the LTTE, sources said.

Col. Ameratunge was appointed to his new position only last month and this is his first meeting with the LTTE after he took his new position.
