The body of the missing fisherman Mr.Nicholsamy Jeyasingham (35) of Point Pedro in Vadamarachchi division in Jaffna district was brought to the shore Saturday morning around nine a.m. by fellow fishermen who went Saturday morning in search of him, fisheries sources said.

Mr.Nicholsamy Jeyasingham went missing in the northern sea Thursday night when a gunboat of the Sri Lanka navy rammed the plastic boat in which he and two other fishermen went for fishing, fisheries sources said.

On receipt of information the Point Pedro Police rushed to the site and took charge of the body and handed over to the Point Pedro hospital. Several injuries were found on the face and neck of the body, medical sources said.

Point Pedro Magistrate Mr.K. Ariyanayakam held the inquest into the death of the deceased at the hospital and ordered the authorities to hand over the body to the relatives, legal sources said.

Two fishermen who were injured in the incident are still warded in the Point Pedro base Hospital, medical sources said.
