Youth attacked in Vavuniya

Rajendrakumar (26), a resident of Marambaikulam in Vavuniya district, was severely beaten by unknown assailants at his home yesterday, sources in Vavuniya said. He has been admitted to the Anuradhapura hospital and is receiving treatment for his injuries, hospital sources said.

Rajendrakumar has long been suspected as an informant to the Sri Lanka Army (SLA), residents of Marambaikulam said.

Vavuniya Police is conducting investigations into the attack, security sources said.
