UPFA minister visits Jaffna district

Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Mr. Janaka Bandara Tennekon Sunday paid a visit to Jaffna district. He was the first minister of the newly formed United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) government to visit Jaffna, sources said.

Mr. Tennekon arrived in Palaly by a special aircraft Sunday morning with his family and paid homage to Nainativu Nagadeepa Vihare.

Later he visited Anaipanthy Nagadeepa Vihare.

The Sri Lanka Army and Police provided security to the minister, sources said.

Mr.Tennekon left Jaffna Sunday afternoon by air, sources said.
