The North East Provincial Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry has organised a Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition for students from Grade 1 to Grade 11 in all twenty four-education zones in the province, in a bid to enhance the knowledge of the students in science and mathematics, provincial education sources said.

The Education Development Unit of the Provincial Ministry of Education is in charge of the quiz competition, which will be held first at school level, later divisional and zonal level in the province during the second term of schools, which has commenced on April 20, sources said.

Provincial Education Department has allocated two thousand rupees to each education zone in the province to conduct the quiz competition at their levels.

Winners of school, divisional and zonal level competitions will be qualified to enter the final provincial level quiz competition which is to be held during the third week of July. Those students who acquire first three places in each grade will be awarded with certificates and prizes, education officials said.
