Elilan meets Sri Lanka Security Forces Commanders[TamilNet, Sunday, 09 May 2004, 14:43 GMT]Mr.C. Elilan, new Trincomalee district political head of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Sunday morning held discussion with the Trincomalee heads of Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy and the Sri Lanka Police in the office of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) in Trincomalee, security sources said.
Discussion focused on the ground situation in Trincomalee district lasted for more than forty minutes. Media persons were not allowed to cover the discussions.
Mr.Daya Samaraweera, Trincomalee Superintendent of Police commended the outgoing political head Mr.Thilak for extending fullest co-operation to the police to maintain law and order and earned the gratitude and satsifaction of all three communities in the district. The talks with the new LTTE Trincomalee district political head Mr.Elilan was useful and constructive and he had also promised to maintain good rapport with the Sri Lanka Police and other state security agencies in maintaining the law and order situation, SLMM sources said.
