Solheim - SLMM Meet to discuss the Eastern Situation

Norwegian Special Envoy to Sri Lanka Mr. Eric Solheim met with the head of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM-Lk) Maj. Gen. Trond Furuhovde Tuesday morning.

Norwegian Special Envoy to Sri Lanka Mr. Eric Solheim met with the head of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM-Lk) Maj. Gen. Trond Furuhovde Tuesday morning. SLMM sources confirmed that a wide range of issues were discussed. In particular, the present situation in the North and East in the context of the CFA and the activities of the monitoring mission were discussed.

Later in the day, Mr. Solheim had discussions with Mr. Jayantha Dhanapala, Director General of the Sri Lanka Peace Secretariat. The peace process in the current political circumstances prevailing in the south and the stand of the government (GOSL) were discussed at the meeting.
