Hellenic Red Cross donates relief items to tsunami victims

Hellenic Aid Red Cross Society Tuesday donated a consignment of rice, flour, milk food and toys to the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society. Dr.E.G.Gnanagunalan, President, SLRCS Trincomalee district branch accepted the donation from Mr. Nick Orfanous, Chief of Hellenic Red Cross mission who came in the Greek floating hospital now anchored in the Trincomalee harbour, sources said.

Eleven- member Hellenic Red Cross team has come in the floating hospital to assist the medical team. The team included volunteers and nurses, the sources said.

Dr.E.G.Gnanagunalan said his organization is making arrangements to train SLRC volunteers in several remote villages, by Hellenic Red Cross personnel.
