The lifestyle and customs of the residents of this village markedly differs from those of other traditional Tamil villages, officials said.

Meanwhile, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarian from Jaffna district who visited a pre-school at the Kavadapiddy model village in Amparai, donated Rs 10,000 to buy educational supplies for the pre-school.

Mr Senathirajah gathered details on the way the model village is functioning with its own health facilities and inspected the construction of the temporary shelters.
