Vocational Training Centre opened in Maruthankerni

Six-month vocational training course organized by the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) and Rural Economic Research and Development Organization (REERDO) was declared open Thursday in Maruthankerni village in Vadamaradchchi east division of the Jaffna district.

Paul Davidsen (WUSC) unveiled the name board.
About fifty youths have been enlisted for the training course on modern tailoring and outboard motor repair.

Mr.S.Selvarajah, REERDO Director, Mr.Paul Davidson, Executive Director of the WUSU, Mr.Jeyarajasingham, WUSU Northern Regional Director and Mr.Vincent, TRO Tsunami Relief Special project Director lit the traditional oil lamp. Mr.Ranjan Lala of the LTTE Peace Secretariat hoisted the Thamileelam national flag. Mr.Paul Davidson unveiled the name board. Mr.Ranjan Lala declared open the centre by cutting the ribbon.
