Youth found shot dead in Navatkuda, Batticaloa[TamilNet, Thursday, 23 June 2005, 10:21 GMT]An unidentified person, aged around 20-years, was found dead with three gunshot injuries in Navatkuda, 4 km south of Batticaloa, Thursday morning. Katankudy Police found a note left behind by the assassins at Kanapathipillai Road with the body. The note stated that the victim belonged to LTTE's "pistol group", Police said. The dead person was not from the area, according to Navatkuda Grama Sevakar (GS), the Village Administrative Officer. Batticaloa District Court Judge M H M Ashmeer visited the crime scene. The body was then taken to the Batticaloa Hospital for post-mortem. Katankudy Police Officer In-charge (OIC) I P Herath is conducting investigations into the killing.
