Police patrol ambushed

A Sri Lankan Policeman was wounded today when the Liberation Tigers attacked a Police patrol at 32nd mile post on the Mannar-Madawatchi road . Four Tigers were also wounded when the Police returned fire, said police sources.

Army and Police reinforcements which were sent following the attack, launched a search operation in the area, they said.

Meanwhile, the Voice of Tigers said in its broadcast today that two members of the Liberation Tigers, Mirunalini (Subramanium Sasikala,Batticaloa) and Amuthini (Sivakumari Rangasamy, Kilinochchi) died yesterday in clashes with the Sri Lankan Army in Mankulam and Kilinochchi.
