Grenade lobbed at STF camp in Thirukkovil

Two motorbike-riding men lobbed a grenade at a sentry point located in front of Sri Lanka's Special Task Force camp in Thirukkovil Sunday around 8:00 p.m. No one was injured in the attack, Akkaraipattu police said.

STF soliders opened fire for more than ten minutes following the grenade attack, civilian sources in Thirukkovil said.

The STF camp is located on Akkaraipattu-Pottuvil main road in Thirukkovil, 76 km south of Batticaloa in Amparai district.
