Two Sinhalese men arrested with arms in Valaichenai

Valaichenai Police arrested two Sinhalese men from Polannaruwa and Mannampity with arms Wednesday around 2:00 a.m. at Meeravodai in Valaichenai. The men, allegedly involved in vehicle thefts and robberies, were traveling without the legal documents for their motor bike at the time of the arrest, Police said.

The arrested persons, Mr. S. P. Mahendra, a resident of Thasim Mill Road in Kathuruwela in Polannaruwa and Mr. M. T. Thirtharaja Karuna, a resident of Kal-Ella in Mannampity, were staying in a rental house at Meeravodai in Valaichenai, sources said.

The police has not revealed the details of the arms that were in possession of the two men at the time of the arrest.
