Muttur fishermen receive boats, nets

Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) recently distributed a consignment of boats, canoes and fishing nets to a group of war and tsunami affected fisher families in Kadatkaraichchenai village in the LTTE controlled Muttur east as first phase under its rehabilitation project, south of the Trincomalee district, sources said.

Twenty boats, fifteen canoes and fishing nets were handed over to thirty-five beneficiaries.

TRO Trincomalee District Director Mr.S.Wijekumar presided over the distribution event.

Mr.Semmanan, LTTE Trincomalee district deputy political head participated as the chief guest and inaugurated the distribution of boats, canoes and other related materials to the beneficiaries.

Mr.C.Kumarakuruparan, TRO Trincomalee district deputy director and Mr.Vaihai, Head of the Trincomalee District Sea Tigers also participated in the event.
