Pongu Thamil event to be held in Trinco 22nd October

About hundred Tamil activists and representatives of Tamil organizations attending a discussion held at Trincomalee Vigneswara Maha Vidiyalayam Sunday decided to hold the next Tamil National Resurgence Convention (Pongu Thamil) in Trincomalee town before the end of October, sources said.

Mr.K.Thangarajah, retired Zonal Director of Education presided. Mr.R.Sampanthan and Mr.K.Thurairatnasingham, Trincomalee district parliamentarians participated in the discussion.

An organizing committee was appointed at the meeting to make arrangement to hold the Pongu Thamil event within short time. Sub-committees were also formed at divisional level to conduct awareness campaign and plays in villages, sources said.

The Organizing Committee later fixed the date fixed the date of the event to be Saturday 22nd October.
