Jaffna Campus holds convocation

The twenty fourth convocation at the Jaffna Campus was held Friday at 9.00 am at Kailasapath Hall presided by the Vice Chancellor of the University Professor S Mohanadas. Chancellor Professor M Sivasuriya awarded the degree certificates.



Of the 2375 members of the graduating class, three obtained doctorrates and six were awarded honorary doctorates.

In the ceremony that was rich in tradition Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Professors, Lecturers and graduating students were taken in a procession to the Kailasapathy Hall.

The convocation was held in five separate segments to accommodate the large numbers of graduating students. A similar ceremony in five groups will be held tomorrow, University officials said.
