The only suspect Mr. Sriskandarajah arrested in connection with the murder was not brought to courts Tuesday when the case was taken for further inquiry, legal sources said.

The Magistrate further directed the Secretary General of the Sri Lanka's parliament Ms Priyani Wijesekara to submit a report on the ownership of the vehicle, which according to police investigation belonged to a former parliamentarian and PLOTE leader Mr.Dharmalingam Siddarthan.

The court on an earlier date ordered the release of the vehicle to Mr.Siddarthan.

However Mr.Siddarthan had so far not collected the vehicle from the custody of the court because of the ownership issue, court was told.

Mr.Sivaram was abducted from a restaurant on April 28 this year and his body was found next day early morning close to the parliament complex.

Mr.Sivaram had been gagged and shot in the head, according to investigation conducted by the Police.
