Sixth anniversary of Unceasing Waves-III commemorated[TamilNet, Thursday, 03 November 2005, 11:18 GMT]Sixth anniversary of Unceasing Waves-III, the operation by Liberation Tigers that captured areas along A9 highway from Elephant Pass to Muhamalai, was commomerated in Oddusuddan, presided by the Head of Women's Wing of Lt Col Rajan Education Division of the LTTE, Jeyanthi, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, LTTE media section in Kilinochchi said. Mullaitvu District Head of LTTE Political Wing, S Muhunthan, lit the flame of sacrifice to the photographs of those died in the battle of Unceasing Waves. Parliamentarian S Kanagaratnam garlanded the photographs. Head of Batticaloa LTTE Political Office Amuthan and Head of the LTTE cinematic division Thulasi Chelvan, spoke. In the event presided by Head of Rajan Education Division, Geethan, a book of poetry by LTTE cadres, "From within Fire," was released by Col Jeyam and sister of Major Amutha, Ms Mahilnangai, accepted the first book. LTTE senior member K.V. Balakumaran spoke on the achievements of LTTE and the contribution of the people towards the LTTE military victories in the Jeya Sikurui battle which was aimed at bifuricating the land mass in Vanni that was militarily critical to the Liberation Tigers.
