CWC MP crosses over to SL Government

Vadivel Suresh, of the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) which is led by former Minister Arumugam Thondaman, has crossed over to the Sri Lanka Government and he has been made the Deputy Minister of Health and Nutrition Wednesday, parliamentary sources in Colombo said.

Vadivel Suresh a Parliamentarian from the Badulla district took his oaths before Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse at Temple Trees soon after the cabinet meeting Wednesday evening.

Speaking to the press Vadivel Suresh said that he has crossed to the Government to get the opportunity to serve his upcountry people and that he would continue to remain in his party CWC.

No one can remove him from his party, he added.
