Households must display list of members: SLA
[TamilNet, Monday, 27 October 1997, 23:59 GMT]
The SLA has ordered all residents of Punguduthivu (an island off the Jaffna peninsula) to hang boards outside their houses giving full details of all the residents.
The order comes in the wake of recent skirmishes between the Liberation Tigers and the SLA.
The army in the area is convinced that there is a LTTE group operating in the island.
The boards giving details of everyone in each household in the island of Punguduthivu are meant to assist the army when it cordons off and searches an area.
This rule has been in force in the Batticaloa town for many years.
