SLA trooper injured in accidental firing in Jaffna town

A Sri Lanka Army (SLA) trooper was injured when his gun accidentallyfired near Kasthuriar Road in Jaffna town Friday around 10.30 a.m causing panic among traders and shoppers, said sources in Jaffna.

The injured trooper was rushed to the Military hospital at the Palaly SLA base.

Normalcy returned to the area when people found out the reason for the gunfire, added the sources.

Meanwhile, unidentified men lobbed hand grenade on SLA troopers Friday night around 10.30 p.m in Periya Villan, Jaffna. No details on injuries are available at the moment.
