Claymore explosion kills a SLA soldier in Serunuwara

A Sri Lankan Army (SLA) trooper died and another injured in a claymore explosion Sunday morning around 8:00 a.m., at Left Bank Channel 3 in Lingapuram in Serunuwara police division in Trincomalee district, police sources said.

A group of army soldiers on a road clearing mission hit a claymore mine, sources said.

More troops and policemen rushed to the site and launched a cordon and search operation in the area, sources said.
