Claymore blast kills 4 policemen in Batticaloa[TamilNet, Thursday, 25 May 2006, 07:30 GMT]Four policemen were killed and another wounded when the vehicle in which they were travelling was hit by a claymore blast, at Sea Street in Kattankudy, 5 k.m. south of Batticaloa town, around 7 a.m., Saturday, accoring to police in the eastern town. The claymore was concealed in a van parked on the road side, the police said. Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers retaliated by firing at random, eye witnesses said. The area was cordoned off and searched by the troopers, they said.
