Policeman injured in grenade attack in Murungan

A Sri Lankan Policeman was seriously injured when unidentified men lobbed a grenade and opened fire at police post at Isaimalai Thalvu in Murungan on the Mannar-Madawachchi road, around 9.30 p.m., Thursday. The injured policeman was identified as S. B. Suthath 40, said, Murungan police said.

He was rushed to Murungan Distinct Hospital and later transferred to Anuradhapura Hospital around 10.30 p.m, the sources said.

Isaimalai Thalvu in Murungan is located 22 km south of Mannar.
