[TamilNet, Monday, 29 May 2006, 11:54 GMT]
A Tamil youth arrested nearly a month earlier in Iruthayapuram in the SL Government controlled Muttur division by Sri Lanka Army (SLA) during a cordon and search operation has not been produced in court yet, legal sources said. Mr.K.Thurairatnasingham, Trincomalee district Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarian Monday requested the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) for Eastern Region to urgently inquiry into the whereabouts of the youth, sources said.

Mr.Thurairatnasingham brought to the notice of the DIG Mr.Rohan Abeyagunawardene that 24 year old Tamil youth Mr.Suntharalingam Ravichandran of Manalsenai was arrested by army soldiers on April 28.

The wife of the youth had made a complaint to the Muttur Police on April 29, a day after his arrest. But no action has been taken on the complaint, sources said.
