Bombs hit Batticaloa diary

A boy and eight cows were killed when bombs dropped by Kfir jets of the Sri Lankan Air Force (SLAF) hit a diary at Sothiyanvettai in Paduvankarai, 6 km west of Batticaloa, on Saturday between 8:00 - 8:30 a.m., said sources in Batticaloa.

The SLAF attacked Paduvankarai which is within the Liberation of Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) controlled areas of Batticaloa. Villages such as Vellaveli, Kokkadicholai and Arasady were affected.

The name of the dead boy is not known.
