Paramilitaries abduct 3 Youths in Valaichenai

Paramilitary cadres abducted 3 youths from the villages of Paddiyadychenai in Valaichenai Kalkudah Police area in Batticaloa district Sunday midnight, Police said. Parents of the abducted children, gripped by fear and insecurity, are yet to make complaints to the Police.

Tension prevails in the interior villages of Batticaloa district, according to sources.

Abducted persons were identified as Nadarasha Surendran 22, Shanmugam Ariyan 21, and Kanthashamy Mohanraj 22.

Paramilitary carders who came in a white van would have had to pass the SLA camp to enter the villages of Paddiyadychenai in Valaichenai, local residents said.

Valaichenai is located 28 km north of Batticaloa Town
