Uthayan newspaper warehouse burnt down in Jaffna[TamilNet, Saturday, 19 August 2006, 17:10 GMT]Warehouse of the Uthayan, Tamil daily published from Jaffna district was burnt down by four unidentified armed men, Friday night, while curfew was in force. The warehouse is located along Rasa Veethi in Kopay. Armed men set fire to the warehouse Friday night around 10.30 p.m. ordering the watcher to move away. The watcher was blindfolded and his hands tied. Armed men further ordered the watcher to keep shut otherwise he would be shot. Complaint was lodged with the Jaffna Police Saturday. The warehouse was still burning when the Police visited the site, Saturday morning. Police began inquiry.
