SLA Corporal Somaratna Rajapaksa, the first accused in the Krishanthy Kumaraswamy rape and murder case, appealed to prison authorities that he be tranferred to the Bogambara prison in Kandy as he fears for his life at the Welikada jail in Colombo.
According to legal sources in Colombo, Rajapaksa has expressed concern that there is a plot to seriously harm him.
Prison authorities said today that Rajapaksa's request is under consideration.
The SLA corporal was assaulted in prison following his revelations in court about the mass grave of civilians killed by the SLA at Chemmani in Jaffna.
