[TamilNet, Saturday, 07 October 2006, 16:01 GMT]
A fishing trawler worth about seven million rupees was washed ashore in Thalvupadu in Mannar district Saturday morning. On receipt of information through village level authority Sri Lanka Police and Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) soldiers rushed to the site and examined the vessel, sources said.

Local fisheries sources said that the disabled vessel could have drifted from Negombo, Chilaw or from South Indian coast to Mannar coast due to bad weather and stormy seas.
