SLA Mandur offensive repulsed, one STF trooper killed, two injured- LTTE

One trooper was killed and two others from the Mandur Kampikattu Bridge Special Task Force (STF) of the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) in Batticaloa were seriously injured by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) counter attack Tuesday around 3:30 p.m, said S.Seeralan, Batticaloa District LTTE Deputy Political Head.

The STF unit had penetrated and waited in ambush at a place 4 km into the LTTE held area from their STF camp. The LTTE cordoned off and searched the area and attacked the STF troopers when they tried to escape, added S. Seeralan.

A Buffel Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) was badly damaged.

A woman was seriously injured in STF mortar attack.
