British special envoy arrives in Colombo

Paul Murphy, special envoy of the British Prime Minister Tony Blair Tuesday arrived in Colombo to discuss ways in which the Britain could support the Norwegian peace process. Mr. Paul Murphy is a former Northern Ireland Minister.

Paul Murphy met with Colombo envoys of Co-Chairs later. He is to meet Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapakse and other government leaders Wednesday. He is also expected to meet Ranil Wickremasinghe, leader of the main opposition United National Party (UNP).

Paul Murphy is also scheduled to pay a visit to Killinochchi to meet the leadership of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE)

Murphy visit was a result of talks that Mr. Tony Blair had with Mr.Mahinda Rajapakse when he visited London last August.
