Abducted youth shot dead in Amparai

Unidentified armed men abducted a youth Monday around 9:30 p.m at Kalmunai in Amparai district and shot him dead, said Kalmunai police who recovered the youth's dead body Tuesday around 9:00 a.m.

The victim was identified as Thangarasa Kanthan, 16 of Pandiyirupu in Kalmunai.

Kalmunai police handed the dead body to Kalmunai hospital.

Motive of the killing is not known, said Kalmunai police conducting further investigation.
