Decapitated body found in Kathankudy

The decapitated body of a youth with cut wounds was recovered by Kathankudy police on Tuesday morning at 10:00 am in Manchanthoduvai area along old Kalmunai road in Kathankudy police division in Batticaloa district.

The victim has been identified as Piragasanathan Suthrasan, 23, a resident of Navakudah Pillayar road.

The body was transferred to the Batticaloa teaching hospital, after post-mortem conducted in the presence of acting magistrate M.C.H.Noordeen, and was then handed over to the relatives.

The deceased youth was abducted On Saturday on Vanniyar road in Batticaloa by a group of armed men traveling in a white van.

Kathankudy police have commenced inquiries.

Kathankudy is located 5 km south of Batticaloa.
