Two SLA troopers injured in Vavuniya attack[TamilNet, Friday, 09 February 2007, 12:06 GMT]Two Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers were injured when unknown gunmen fired at a SLA foot patrol in Nellukulam area in Vavuniya around 12:00 noon Friday, Police sources in Vavuniya said. The injured troopers were first taken to Vavuniya Military Hospital and later transferred to Colombo for emergency treatment, hospital sources said. Sri Lanka Military high command has strengthened security and has increased the number of road patrols amidst escalating violence in Vavuniya district, civil society sources in Vavuniya said.
