Family man recovered dead in Eravur

Eravur Police recovered the body of a young mason with gunshot wounds by the Thalavai-Punnaikkudah road in Eravur Police area in Batticaloa district Tuesday morning.

The victim was identified as Selvarasa Sivanathan, 31, a father of a child, from Iyankerny Barathi Village in Chenkalady whose wife is employed in a Middle East country presently.

Sivanathan had left home Monday morning around 7 o’ clock as usual to work and as he failed to return his mother and other family members searched for him in vain.

Eravur police recovered Sivanathan's body on information given by residents of a corpse lying in Punnaikkudah area.

The body was handed over to relatives after the inquest held at Eravur district hospital.
