Unidentified attackers shot and killed four Sinhalese paddy farmers at Nidanwala in Dimbulagala divisional secretariat in Polonnaruwa District Thursday around 9:30 a.m., Police in Aralaganwila said.

Three of them died on the spot while the fourth succumbed to his wounds after being admitted to Polonnaruwa hospital. The Sri Lankan government media center in Colombo blamed LTTE for the killings.
