Sports kit for bored Sinhala doctors

The Jaffna Government Agent has been asked to provide funding for sports goodsto the Sinhala doctors who are working in the peninsula now.

"Why this special treatment to them" queried some medical officers in Jaffna who came to know about the money ( 3180 Sri Lankan rupees) provided for the purpose.

A Jaffna Kachcheri (local administration) official, however, said that this has been done in view of the little means of social interaction the Sinhala doctorshave in Jaffna.

Currently there are seven Sinhala doctors in the Jaffna who have been working there for more than three months. They are based at the Jaffna general hospital, the Chavakachcheri hospital and the Manthikai hospital.
