Uyilangkulam checkpoint reopened

Uyilangku'lam checkpoint, gateway to the Liberation Tigers controlled territory from Mannaar district, was reopened Wednesday morning around 9:00 a.m. after a one-week's closure, sources in Mannaar said. Large number of civilians started travelling to and from government controlled territory and LTTE held areas soon after the re-opening.

Farmers and fishermen were seen transporting their produce from the LTTE held territory to Mannaar town.

The Uyilangku'lam checkpoint will be opened three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, SLA sources said.
