Kaaththaankudi Police on Tuesday arrested two Tamils, a married woman and a married man, around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Naavatkudaa, situated within the Batticaloa municipal limits, under the charge of possession of detonators and wires. Both the persons are living in Mariyamman Kovil Road, Naavatkudaa, the Police said.

Police claimed they recovered the detonators and wires after searching the houses of both persons following a tip off.

The arrested, Mrs. Malarvizhi Mahendrakumar, 37, and Kanthasami Vazhirajan, 30, are subjected to severe interrogation.

Both of them are to be produced before the courts after the interrogation, the Police said.
