Police introduce new bus pass system for Kathirkaamam devotees

Thousands of devotees going to Kathirkaamam temple festival using Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses, are encountering delays and other difficulties as Iginiyagala police authority has directed all SLTB depots in the Eastern province to obtain passes for the Kahirkaamam bound buses at the police stations in Kalmunai and Ampaa'rai in the Ampaa'rai district.

Officer-in-charge of Iginiyagala police post sent this directive which came to effect from 16 July to all SLTB depots through the police stations in the affected districts.

The annual festival of the Murukan temple at Kathirkaamam began on the 15th of July. The last day of the festival is 30th July.
