The festival begins with flag hoisting on August 6 and ends on the 15 th. For security reasons, the devotees are asked to take the necessary documents for their vehicles, he said.

The road leading to Madu Mary's church from Madu junction on Mannaar-Mathavaachi road has remained closed by the SLA for several months.

Special arrangements have been made for devotees wishing to go to Madu before August 10 to enter through Uyilangku'lam SLA check point.

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses will run on Madu road from 9:00 am to 6:00 p.m, during the festival period.
