Six Tamil youths arrested in Gampaha

The police at Gampaha railway station took two Tamil youths travelling in the Yarldevi train from Colombo to Vavuniya Sunday morning into custody, alleging suspicion of involvement with 'terrorist' activities. The youths are being detained in Gampaha police station and are being questioned by the Terrorist Intelligence Division, sources said.

Meanwhile, four more Tamil civilians were taken into custody during a cordon and search operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Army and police from Saturday night till Sunday dawn in the Gampaha town.

More than 600 rvehicles were subjected to search, sources said.
