Male body recovered in Kayts

Relatives searching for a missing person found him dead in Thulaavil Ku'lam (pond) in Kayts (Oorkaavatthu'rai) Thursday evening, with stones tied to the body to keep it submerged in the water.

The victim, Anthony, 35, a resident of Oorkaavtthu'rai, was reported missing recently.

People in the area, sensing bad odour coming from the pond had searched for the source of the smell and found his body.

A youth who had gone missing from this region recently had also been recovered dead in a similar pond in Oorkaavatthu'rai.
