NGOs supply relief to IDPs in Mannaar[TamilNet, Monday, 03 September 2007, 12:21 GMT]Several non-governmental organizations are providing cooked meals and other relief materials to displaced families sheltered in Naanaaddan since the military operation launched in Musali division in Mannaar district, by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA). The families have been displaced from Vankaalai, Valkaipattaankandal, Nanthuvaliku'lam, Kollanku'lam, Pontheivukandal, Sooriyakaddai, Olimadu, Puthukathanku'lam, Eruviddan, Achchanku'lam and Murunkan in the Musali division, sources said. NGOs including ZOA, Sri Lanka Red Cross, LEADS, Seva Lanka, World Vision and Sarvodhaya are participating in helping the refugees, sources said.
