Sporadic violence in Vanni

Sri Lankan defence sources said that five Liberation Tigers were killed and two Sri Lankan Army soldiers were wounded in confrontations in Paranthan and Mankulam during the last 48 hours ending this afternoon.

They said three Tigers were killed at Mankulam and 2 in Paranthan on Sunday.

Two SLA soldiers were in Mankulam today they added.

Meanwhile, the Voice of Tigers (VoT) said one LTTE member, Saratha (Mylvaganam Vanitha, Jaffna) died in a confrontation with the SLA in Paranthan on Sunday.

Another member of the LTTE-Ealapriya (Sinnathamby Ranjani, Jaffna) died in a clash with the SLA in Mankulam today the radio said.
