More Councillors resign

Three EPDP councillors of the Vadamaradchi south-west Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) resigned from their posts today said sources in Jaffna. They are N.Selvanayakam, P.Jeyaneethavatham and N. Thevaaranium.

Another councillor, K.Jeyakanthan, of the Nallur Pradeshiya Sabha has also decided to submit his resignation the sources added.

Meanwhile Secretary of the Chavakachcheri PS, V.Arunanthi, lodged a complaint at the EPDP's office in Chavakachcheri that Chavakachcheri PS chairman Anton Ponnaiah's sister has threatened to kill him.

Mr. Anton Ponnaiah was detained by the Sri Lankan Army after a clash with the SLA two months ago.

Arunanthi, who has not reported for duties since November 10, said that he will resign from his post if he is not transferred to an another council.
