Changes imminent in NE administration

Major restructuring is expected in the offices of the North-East Provincial Council (NEPC) after the new Governor, retired Lt. Gen. Asoka Jeyawardene, took up duties said political sources in Colombo.
They said changes in Secretaries to the provincial ministries could be expected.
Secretaries to the ministries are appointed by the Governor while the chief secretary of the PC is appointed by the President.
Meanwhile the Colombo office of the North-East Governor which was used by the former Governor, Gamini Fonseka, has been closed and the new office will start to function in Trincomalee.
